What to Consider When Installing Balcony Photovoltaics

The threshold for installing balcony photovoltaics is relatively low, but several key conditions must be met:

Sunlight Conditions: It is best to have at least 4-6 hours of direct sunlight per day. South-facing balconies are ideal, followed by southeast and southwest-facing ones. If the balcony is shaded for most of the day, power generation efficiency will be significantly reduced.

Installation Space: A typical solar panel measures approximately 2.3 meters by 1.1 meters. Measure the balcony railing, exterior wall, or floor to ensure there is sufficient load-bearing space.

Power Outlet Access: A grounded wall outlet is required.

For standard plug-and-play balcony photovoltaic kits, the installation process is straightforward and consists of the following five steps:
1.Secure the Mounting Bracket: Use the provided mounting bracket and stainless steel screws to fix the bracket to the balcony railing, wall, or floor. Follow the instructions to ensure it can withstand windy conditions.

2. Install the Solar Panel: Slot or fix the solar panel onto the installed mounting bracket.

3. Install the Microinverter and Anti-Backflow Device: Secure the microinverter to the bracket or wall. If an anti-backflow device is required, clip the anti-backflow meter onto the standard rail of the AC distribution box. Press the top of the meter to engage the clip with the rail, then gently shake the meter to confirm it is firmly installed.

4. Connect the Wiring: Connect the output cables of the solar panel to the microinverter, and attach the AC main input voltage/current collection wires to the anti-backflow meter.

5. Plug into the Power Source: Insert the power output cable of the inverter into the wall outlet, and the system will start working.
