The threshold for installing balcony photovoltaics is relatively low, but several critical conditions must be met:
Lighting Conditions: It is best to have direct sunlight for 4–6 hours or more per day. South-facing balconies are optimal, followed by southeast or southwest orientations. If the area is shaded for most of the day, the power generation efficiency will be significantly reduced.
Installation Space: A typical solar panel measures approximately 2.3 meters by 1.1 meters. Measure the balcony railing, exterior wall, or ground to ensure there is sufficient load-bearing space.
Power Outlet Access Point: A properly grounded wall outlet is required.
For standard plug-and-play balcony photovoltaic kits, the installation process is extremely simple and consists of the following five steps:
Secure the Mounting Bracket: Use the provided bracket and stainless steel screws to fix the bracket to the balcony railing, wall, or ground. Follow the instructions to ensure it can withstand windy conditions.
Install the Photovoltaic Panel: Insert or secure the solar panel onto the installed mounting bracket.
Install the Micro-Inverter and Anti-Backflow Device: Fix the micro-inverter to the bracket or wall. If an anti-backflow device is needed, attach the anti-backflow meter to the standard rail of the AC distribution box by pressing the top of the meter until the clamp engages with the rail. Gently shake the meter to confirm it is securely installed.
Connect the Wiring: Connect the output cable of the photovoltaic panel to the micro-inverter. Attach the AC main incoming line voltage/current collection wires to the anti-backflow meter.
Plug into the Power Source: Insert the power output cable of the inverter into the wall outlet, and the system will begin operating.
